AI Resiliency
I wonder how many companies are thinking about their strategy through the lens of AI resiliency.
I’m not talking about using AI to optimize the business or add AI features to your SaaS product.
AI resiliency asks a different question:
“In the next ~6 months, how difficult would it be to replicate our business with a fleet of agents running 24/7?”
If your product is purely digital, I think this is especially important.
The level of effort required to replicate digital products is decreasing. And the rate at which it is decreasing seems to be accelerating.
That doesn’t mean every digital business is suddenly going away.
It does mean that the moat you thought you had because something was expensive or time-consuming to build may not be much of a moat for very long.
I actually think companies whose value depends on the physical world are in a pretty interesting position.
The physical execution is much harder for a fleet of agents to replicate.
And at the same time, the impact AI can have on those businesses is still crazy high.
So really, truly ask yourself:
How difficult would it be to replicate our value proposition?
And maybe more importantly:
What are we doing about that?
